OK teams, welcome back to another blind tasting. All will be revealed at the end. But first…
We’ve put together a range of six whiskies of various flavour profiles and prices. We’ll be asking you to agree scores for each, and looking at how the judging process can compare the perfect simplicity of a Bruichladdich or a Caol Ila with the complexity of, say, a classic sherry aged malt.
We’ll talk about the art and science of whisky judging and scoring, different types of assessment, and a day in the life of a top whisky judge.
May the force be with you.
After last months success we’ve decided to stay at our more cosy home venue. So, two things to remember:
• the tasting will be at the same address as before No.1a (NOT No.1 who had quite a few visitors last time). The house is located in the far left hand corner of the close (Up the garden steps).
• If you fancy a beer while you settle in, please bring some.
If you want more than one place, just reserve as many places as you need separately (this will make it much simpler if you need to cancel a place).
Please only reserve a place if you genuinely intend to come – our tastings usually sell out, and if you don’t show up you prevent someone else coming … and we end up out of pocket!
The tasting will be held at Spam’s house , 1a Major Close, Hollingdean. BN1 7EE. Its the house in the far left corner of the close. Walk up the garden steps to the black front door and ring the bell.
15 min walk from London Road train station
5 min walk from Waverley Crescent bus stop (No.50, 50U, 91). Walk down the hill and turn right onto Horton Rd. Major close will be on your right.
This friendly and informative tasting will be on Thursday 7th November at 7:30pm (for an 8pm start) at Spam’s house 1a Major Close, BN1 7EE. Please note our change of venue.
We use Eventbrite to manage our bookings, but in order to keep costs down we use cash payments. Tickets are £20 per person, in cash on the night.
