Following on from our fantastic Compass Box tasting, we turn to another independent whisky producer. Signatory have been bottling casks from a variety of distilleries since 1988 – and typically choose just a single cask for each limited edition bottling.
Their whiskies have been incredibly well received whenever we’ve included them in a tasting, so we felt a Signatory tasting was long overdue. The bottles we’ve chosen have all reached their prime, having begun life in the last millennium, and the majority are at cask strength – so they should deliver.
Imperial 1995, 19yo. Bottled for the Cask Strength Collection.
Glen Ord 1997, 17yo. Bottled for the Cask Strength Collection.
Glenlivet 1996, 18yo. Bottled for the Un-Chillfiltered Collection.
Blair Athol 1988, 26yo. Bottled for the Cask Strength Collection.
Cambus 1991, 23yo. Bottled for the Cask Strength Collection, from the now extinct Cambus distillery.
Bruichladdich 1992. 21yo. Bottled for the Un-Chillfiltered Collection.

We’re proud to welcome back one of our favourite whisky blenders. Compass Box were the original mavericks in the whisky revival of the past decade, and they continue to make innovative, small batch whisky. In an industry which often shrouds itself in mystique, they’re refreshingly transparent about what goes into their whisky.
Come and explore their distinctive range of contemporary blends and discover what makes them so special. You’ll be able to put your questions direct to a Compass Box expert, who will be able to point you in the right direction.
The tasting will be on Thursday 19th March at 7:30pm (for an 8pm start) in the back room of The Lord Nelson Inn on Trafalgar Street, close to Brighton Station. Don’t get lost! Tickets will be £15 on the night.
PS You may also wish to reserve Thursday the 23rd of April in your diary now for the date of the subsequent tasting…
